SHB30221 Certificate III in Make-up is a nationally recognised qualification that introduces you to the creative and advanced world of make-up artistry. This qualification will allow you to explore and develop your skills to design and apply make-up for a variety of purposes including beauty, fashion, media and entertainment industry. You will gain the necessary skills and confidence to work as a freelance make-up artist providing make-up and airbrushing services to clients. In this qualification you will learn how to provide a broad range of make-up services including:

• Design and apply day and evening make-up
• Make-up for bridal
• Make-up for photography
• Remedial camouflage to disguise skin imperfections on the face & body, including blemishes, birthmarks, tattoos and scars
• Airbrush make-up, highlighting, contouring & blush application
• Creative make-up designs

• Colour Theory
• Client consultation

This qualification provides a pathway to work as a freelance make-up artist or retail sales consultant in any business that sells beauty or cosmetic products and services. This can include retail outlets such as cosmetic counters, department stores, pharmacies or beauty and hairdressing salons.

Stream 1: Payment Plan $5,200 | Stream 2: Payment Plan $4,200

Stream 1: Payment Plan $5,200 ($500 deposit upon enrolment and balance paid by direct debit on a payment plan throughout the course duration; 18 fortnightly instalments of $261.11; please allow a $2.30 admin fee and $11.00 account set-up

Stream 2: Payment Plan $4,200 ($500 deposit upon enrolment and balance paid by direct debit on a payment plan throughout the course duration; 12 fortnightly instalments of $308.33; please allow a $2.30 admin fee and $11.00 account set-up fee)

Included in course fees: all products, equipment, learner guides required to complete this qualification unless mentioned under the Additional Fees section.
Student Requirements & Additional Fees
• WA Academy uniform t-shirt to be worn with black professional pants and black enclosed shoes.
• General stationery and a padlock for use of the lockers.
• Students are to purchase a Make-up Kit from WA Academy which includes a brush set, make-up products, strip eyelashes and tools required to complete their qualification.
• Students are required to supply models for all practical assessments to demonstrate their technical skills.
• The Training Package Stipulates that all practical assessments must be performed on a variety of models.
• Models are also required to pay the model assessment fee charge as assessments must be performed on a paying client.
Study Mode & Additional Study/Training
Stream 1: 36 weeks on campus (1 day per week)

Stream 2: 24 weeks on campus (1 day per week)

Approximately 6 additional hours per week is to be completed off-campus to complete prescribed reading of learner guides and workbook activities.

Approximately 6 additional hours per week is to be completed off-campus to complete theory assessments consisting of knowledge questions and assignment.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, other than a minimum age requirement of 15 years of age.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment: As a requirement of the student entry procedure, students may have to undertake a Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment. This is assessed on a case-by-case scenario.
